Fear and Courage
Fear is one of the most powerful emotions and it causes hardship in many ways. Fear lies to us. It tells us that we can not, we are not enough, we should not try because we will fail. Fear cheats us out of opportunities. Fear holds us down. Fear will cause knots in our stomachs when we think about doing something that we have not done before. Fear creates a feeling of doubt. Fear causes inaction resulting in long-term procrastination. Fear can create extreme anxiety, causing your heart to race to a point of passing out. Meditation and breathing techniques can lower the anxiety associated with fear. Everything that we can become, will be based on our ability to conquer the irrational fear associated with personal growth and development.
Someone said me, “If I can feel it (fear) in the pit of my stomach it (fear) has to be real.” Fear is defined as “an unpleasant emotion cause by the belief that someone or something thing is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat.” Fear is a real emotion and we must be able to distinguish between fear and danger.
We must push past our feeling of being fearful when we are in the process of stepping outside of our comfort zone. Our comfort zone can be anything that cause the feeling of fear, such as; public speaking, asking for a raise, starting a new company, jumping out of a plane for the first time or thinking about becoming a millionaire in ten years. Some fears are good because they will keep us out of harm's way. For example, most American have a fear of public speaking and of heights. the fear of public speaking is an irrational one because there is no real danger. However, the fear of heights is a real fear because someone could fall and hurt themselves.
We must be able to differentiate between the fear that is associated with danger and fear that is based on a belief when we are trying to grow. When our desires, dreams, hopes are greater than our fears then we will have the courage to act. The belief associated with the feeling of fear will not disappear, it must be pushed aside by our desire for change, which creates courage in our lives.
Courage is based on a passion that is greater than that feeling of fear. When we are passionate we will take bold steps toward our dreams, hopes and desires. Courage is not free from fear it is moving forward despite the feeling of fear. Courage is understanding that you may not have it figured out completely but, you are willing to learn as you go and make mistakes along the way.
I am currently working on a course that will take one hundred people to one million dollars in years. Based on this post there are people who are talented with a great deal of skills but they lack the courage to get on the track to become a millionaire in ten years. Perhaps I should say that their fears are holding them back from starting.
If you are interested in becoming a millionaire in ten years I can help you get there. Sign Up for the email list for more information. Have the courage to try.
